About Kraken Customs
Welcome to Kraken Customs, where craftsmanship, precision, and timeless design come to life. Based in the heart of Northeast Tennessee, I draw inspiration from the stunning Appalachian Mountains and the generations of craftsmen in my family.
My woodworking journey began over 15 years ago, sparked by a desire to create something special for my daughter. With just a drill, a circular saw, and an angle grinder I picked up at a garage sale, I built a 3-foot-tall coffin-style dollhouse for her Monster High dolls. That simple project ignited a passion for working with my hands, a passion that has grown into a thriving business.
A Legacy of Craftsmanship
I come from a family of makers and builders. One grandfather was a machinist for TRW, and the other built houses with the Amish in Ohio. Their dedication to precision and quality inspired my own approach to woodworking. While I’m self-taught, I’ve spent countless hours learning through YouTube videos, experimenting with designs, and honing my craft.
What started with cutting boards and handmade wooden pens has evolved into a wide range of creations. From personalized gifts and trophies to wall art and large custom builds like a walnut D&D gaming table with an embedded LED TV, every piece I make is crafted with care and attention to detail.
Crafting as a Calling
Woodworking has also been my refuge. As a caregiver for my wife, who has undergone over 20 surgeries for a chronic brain condition, creating with my hands has provided solace and a sense of purpose. Seeing the joy my work brings to others keeps me motivated to explore new designs and techniques.

At Kraken Customs, I believe the details matter. Every item I create, whether it’s a personalized cutting board or a custom trophy, receives the same level of precision and care. I source local hardwood whenever possible, milling some of it myself to ensure quality. My customers often call my work “too pretty to use” or “conversation pieces” that bring daily joy, and I strive to live up to those compliments with every project.

2025 marks an exciting chapter for Kraken Customs. I’m building this website to showcase my work and make it easier for you to find the perfect gift, award, or decor piece. I’m also launching a YouTube channel to share woodworking tips, tricks, and beginner-friendly tutorials to inspire the next generation of makers.
